The wall behind the crib...

I was originally going to put some pomanders/chinese lanterns in the corner for some nursery decor. But since I was able to get the chandelier I 86ed that idea. But now I need something to put on the wall behind the crib. I ordered her letters which are white with glitter. I want these to be the main focus. So these are my brillant ideas. Please let me know what you think...

Option 1: I want to put a full wall decal on the wall behind the crib. I really like this idea but don't really want to pay $215+ tax & shipping for it. Doe's anyone have any recommendations or know of a place that does them cheaper? My walls are Behr "Fashion Gray" I want it to be transparent enough to see the gray walls, but I want the print to be a lighter/darker gray.

Option 2: I found these on Etsy. I can put them along the baseboard around the room and clump most of them on the wall behind her crib.

Option 3: This is also from Etsy. I can put this above the crib along the border of the ceiling and the wall.

Option 4: Also from Etsy. I can do the trees.

Option 5: Or I found this idea online. I can choose different fabrics I like and make these. But I think this might be too much going on..

  1. I like option #2 and #3. Way cute! But if you really love #1 get a stencil (i have seen them at lowes and walmart) I am sure they are everywhere though...and stencil the wall, then you could do whatever color you wanted and it would be way cheaper. Good luck! Everything else has looked amazing I am sure this will to!

  2. I love that you are doing your daughters room purple! I did this with my daughters room too and it came out soo cute..I love it. I would go with option #3...very girly and love the lil butterflies(in my daughters room as well)! The first one I love too but maybe better for when she is older. Good luck can't wait to see how it turns out!

  3. I want to see these letters they sound so cute!!! If it helps you at all, we weren't aloud to do a thing to our walls except hammer a few things to hang stuff. So I just did the letters, shelves, painting I painted, and that thing that goes around the window but can't remember the name hahahaha. I felt like it helped a lot. I would have died to just have a grey way!!! So even if you do that I think you would be fine. I like your idea though I think that could be really cute. I can't remember if you have a a theme but you could just hand paint something too. I would love to help you any way I can if you want. JoAnn's has some vinyl art, I haven't really looked at their selection but they might have something that catches your eye. I hope it turns out just they way you envision it to be. I think it will be really cute!!! I do love love love the colors so I think even keeping it simple as plane jane would still look amazing!!! Ohhh check out Rosenberryrooms.com they have some neat stuff too!!! And I like that fabric idea too. I just don't think you can go wrong....

  4. PS I meant hand paint something on the wall. My sister did pink rose peddles cascading down the wall. It looked really cute... and it matched her nursery theme.

  5. I like option 1 or 2! There is a place called Walls in SLC that might have some cute things (I have never been, I just have seen it and follow their blog.) I love your color palette! Her room is going to be so cute!

  6. I like option 1. You can even achieve the same look without the crazy price tag by buying the same paint color you have in a high gloss finish and free-handing or stenciling a design on the wall. It's super subtle, but super cute :)

  7. Thanks everyone for your input! I think I am leaning towards Option #1 or Option #3. I think they go best with my "theme." But I will keep everyone updated with pictures :) My friends Shaylee told me a place I can get option #1 at a cheaper price, so I am going to check it out this week! If they are still not what I am looking for, then I will probably do the stencil idea with a lighter gray.

McKinley- I will post pictures of the letters as soon as I receive them. I am expecting them by the end of this month no later than the beginning of October!
